Stormy Skies
Occasionally the sky opens up and dangerous weather happens upon the earth. What are some ways to keep safe during a lightning storm, hurricane, & tornado?

Torrential rains & strong winds, tornadoes, lightning...these are Mother Nature's awesome creations. Hurricane force winds can reach up to 200 miles per hour, and at that speed a disaster is imminent. Tornadoes are fierce funnel clouds that bring visions of a house being sucked up inside it. Lightning is very powerful & yet mystifying to watch, as long as you're at a safe distance. And since lightning can strike as far as 40 miles away, it's very important to play it safe while keeping your eye on the storm.

Lightning
The National Lightning Safety Institute teaches this slogan: "If you can see it - flee it; if you can hear it - clear it". No doubt they know what they're talking about when it comes to lightning safety. Stay one step ahead of the storm and read some informative tips on lightning safety:

Hurricanes
Hurricane season is from June 1 through November 30, with most hurricane storms occuring during August, September, & October. They can cover several hundred miles and can create torrential rains and even tornadoes. Those living on or near the coast should take heed of warnings and take precautions to protect their loved ones. Find out how powerful hurricanes get; the amount of devastation they can cause; and print out a list of supplies to gather for hurricane preparation:

Tornadoes
Tornadoes are nature's most violent and unpredictable storms. You can't predict where they'll land, or even which direction they may turn. They can travel for a long distance and then suddenly retreat back up into the sky, and then come down and attack the ground again without notice. Learn how to prepare for these dangerous funnel clouds:
