Pray for Peace 2000
We thought this was an appropriate time, with the beginning of a new century, to ask our Internet visitors to pray for peace...in our hearts, our homes, our neighborhoods & schools, in our cities, states, countries, & throughout the world. With parents wishing for less violence, if we all did a little something positive, maybe we could accomplish the dream of a safer world for our children. Please take the time to read our article, visit our recommended sites, & help us help others by praying for peace. Thank you so much for your support, and we wish you a very safe and Happy New Year! -January 1, 1999
"Peace"...what exactly does that word mean to you? If you looked up the definition in the dictionary, you'd find that it says, "1a. The absence of war or other hostilities. 1b. An agreement or treaty to end hostilities. 2. Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmony. 3. Public security. 4. Calm; serenity." All of these definitions are truly the opposite of what our world is experiencing today. For example: the excessive acts of school violence...what was once a safe place for children, has now become a "warzone". Not only do children have to face bullies, but they now think about the possibility of classmates carrying guns and using them. What kind of message are today's children being sent? If we are to make the world more peaceful, we must reach through our children and actually feel what they're feeling. If we can reach just one child...just one person...we have begun our journey to a more peaceful land. Please, reach out today and help us pray for peace.
