Many of your child's plastic toys (among them a baby's teething ring) contain phthalates which have been proven to be toxic. If your child is sucking on a PVC teether, he'll be ingesting toxic chemicals. There are still many toy manufacturers who are making PVC toys, and it is still not unanimous on what should be done.
