Moments for Mom Mother's Day Special
By Elisabeth Corcoran, Author of Calm in My Chaos.
Mother's Day 2003
So one day 6½-year-old Sara says to me, "In school today, we were talking about what we want to be when we grow up. What do you want to do, Mommy, when you grow up?" And I said, "Well, honey, I’m already grown up and I’m already doing it." And she said, "What are you?!" I replied, "I’m a stay-at-home mommy, a Women’s Ministries Director, a writer and a speaker." And she said, "No...those things are easy. What are you really, like a travel agent or something?"
Easy?! I think we can all agree that none of those things are easy...especially the mommy part. What you are doing each and every day, Mom -- it’s more worthwhile than you’ll ever know. Keep focused today...love your husband, love your children, love God. And lean on the fact that He wants to help you figure it all out.
Happy Mother’s Day!
