It’s been quite a few years since the children’s show, Dora the Explorer was watched on a television in our home. But when our child was young, she couldn’t get enough of Dora and her friends. I personally liked the little Spanish lessons that were contained in each episode, and I’m sure my child didn’t know she was actually learning something. ![]()
She did learn some Spanish words from the show, and we even remember the characters, songs (I’m the map), and phrases (Swiper, no swiping!). I often wished we could take Dora with us outside the home, and find some activities to do on long trips in the car. Well, now children can enjoy taking Dora and her friends everywhere they go, with Nickelodeon’s new magazine, “Dora the Explorer and Friends.”
We were delighted to receive the first 2 issues of this new magazine — at first glance the cover is glossy with a colorful design of Dora and some friends. Each magazine contains 70 free stickers (some can be used to complete activities in the magazine), coloring pages, and fun activities including cut-outs, puzzles, and stories. Each issue also contains select Spanish translations throughout, so your child can continue developing their foreign language skills, even when they’re not in front of the television.
MyParenTime.com highly recommends the magazine, “Dora the Explorer and Friends” — if your child loves Dora, this magazine will bring them even more Dora! The stories and activities will allow your child to take an interactive part in learning. Parents now have another tool to help develop and challenge their children’s growing minds.
