Use these tips for a less stressful packing experience!
Obtain free boxes from department stores, supermarkets, etc. Purchase sturdy boxes for all heavy items, including books.
Accumulate bubble wrap, blankets, newspapers, and other items to use as packing material.
Tape the bottoms of all boxes a few times for extra support.
Do not pack important papers such as insurance policies and wills into boxes. Keep these items with you during your move.
Pack necessary personal items separately, or keep them with you during your move.
On the sides of all boxes write, "THIS SIDE UP", with an arrow pointing to the top of the box.
On the sides of all boxes containing fragile items write, "FRAGILE" in large letters.
Keep a checklist of your boxed contents with you as you pack, and number all boxes. See our Packing Checklist - http://www.printablechecklists.com/checklist45.shtml.
List all contents of a box on the side of the box.
Pack all electronic items in their original boxes (tv, computer)
Try and distribute the weight of boxes so they're easy to move.
Do not pack any flammable or combustible items into boxes.
Allow your children to pack and label a few of their own boxes, so they can be a part of the packing "fun" and know they'll see their favorite things again when the move is over.
The above helpful tips are presented for educational purposes only. We cannot guarantee that you will have a non-stressful move :-).
