Children's Book Subjects
Please Help Children By Giving Us Your Opinion!

Dear MyParenTime.com Parents: I am a fulltime freelance writer and former gifted education coordinator, published in major markets such as The Washington Post, Family Fun Magazine, Baby Talk Magazine, etc. Currently, I am working with two small publishing houses on exciting nonfiction books for children reading on beginning and upper primary levels. We very much want book subjects to include science, social studies and current event topics that will make kids "jump up and down" with excitement.

Please take a moment to help me with answers to these simple questions about NONFICTION or BIOGRAPHY book needs for youngsters. Answer as many questions as you like, or just a few. Name: Email: 1. Does your child search the library or bookstore in vain, hoping to find a book on a favorite topic or interest, but finding nothing available? If so, what subject or topics would your child love to add to the collection? 2. Is Your child wild about jellyfish, bedbugs, the global economy, the tropical rainforest, or any other nonfiction subject, but, he/she has read every book on the shelf? What new titles would your child add? 3. Are there any famous or special people that your chikld would like to read about? Who are they? 4. Can you find five hundred eleven books on a popular topic written for upper elementary readers, but can't find a thing for your curious five or six-year-old? Please list topics or books that you believe are needed for our cute & cuddly preschoolers and/or beginning readers! 5. Now for Mom and Dad! Ever browse the parenting and education areas, but just can't find the right book for the stages/issues/topics that you really want to study? Show me the subjects! What do you WISH publishers would write about? List science, social studies, biography, etc....whatever subjects you believe are scarce or even totally unavailable on library or bookstore primary nonfiction bookshelves. If you are unsure about whether a title is really considered scarce or not, go ahead and list it anyway:). Additional comments are welcome! (ie: Suggest ideas of subjects that you like very much, or titles/subjects that you'd like to see more of...even if you are able to locate several books on a favorite topic, that topic could still be one that needs additional titles.)
