Special Book Review
"Get Out of My Life, But First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall?"
Do you think you know your teenager? Well think again! It doesn't matter that we were once teenagers - things have definitely changed since we were young :).
The book, "Get Out of My Life, But First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall?" by Anthony E. Wolf, Ph.D., does a great job of explaining how today's teenagers think, act and respond. It discusses their expectations on numerous topics - relationships between parents and siblings, chores, etc. It gives parents a glimpse into the world of the teenager - your teenager. This book will teach parents different ways to respond to typical teen situations, and they'll learn how to respond to those situations through sample dialogs between parents and teens. Parents will discover which responses are appropriate for each situation.
MyParenTime.com highly recommends the book, "Get Out of My Life, But First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall?" - it's easy to read, easy to understand, and contains suggestions that are easy to implement. Parents will feel like they have the answers on how to "deal" with their teenagers.
Even parents of not yet teens (such as I) will find themselves making use of a lot of the information in this book. I found myself putting myself in many of the suggested situations. Parents of soon-to-be teens will also find this book informative - there are so many changes going on during this time in a child's life, that parents quite often forget that there is not only more than one way to respond to a situation, but there is a good way and a better way too :).
