Special Video Review

"The Bully Factor"

READ MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM Since many children are the unfortunate victims of bullies, we as parents should make time to speak to our children about the consequences of bullying. Children who bully need to learn that there are consequences to bullying, and they don't exist solely with the bully -- the victims suffer needless physical and emotional trauma. This suffering can well exist throughout the victim's life. For parents of bullied children -- wouldn't you rather your child be informed than not know what to do?

MyParenTime.com and it's family of websites believes in giving children the power of knowledge -- the more a child knows how to respond in certain situations, the more apt they are to use the information they know to remove themselves from danger.

The video, "The Bully Factor," is a great resource to help children gain some techniques to enable them to respond to a bullying situation. The creator of this video is Patrick McKay, an eleven-year-old, 2nd Degree Black Belt. Since many bullying situations occur at school, the video is based in a school atmosphere and shows many ways children can remove themselves from a bully's physical attacks.

Each bullying scenerio is broken down into steps, so children can learn and practice along with the video. The video comes complete with pop quizzes and a review of all the moves.

MyParenTime.com highly recommends this video -- it's informative, easy-to-understand and implement, and contains easy-to-use hints and tips on what to do if children encounter a bullying situation at school or anywhere.

What's great about this video, is the fact that a Patrick does the teaching. Children will be able to relate more to a child in these types of situations. If they see another child using these techniques, they'll feel secure using this knowledge if they themselves ever encounter a bullying situation. Another great thing about this video is the use of non-violent tactics. Instead of reacting violently to bullies (which would probably lead to more aggression), the video encourages non-violent responses. A must-see video!
