"Bettertimes Swim Clip"

READ MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM Ever since I can remember, I was never able to swim without holding my nose. I was one of those kids in camp with this strange looking device on my nose...the dreaded "nose plugs," as they were called back then. Nowadays, they're called "nose clips..." they've since become a swim accessory :).

Well, as an adult, I still have to hold my nose. My daughter used to be able to swim without holding hers, but one day she went under the water and came up exclaiming that she now needed to hold her nose as well! After a year of holding our noses and searching store after store for the perfect "nose clip," I decided to search online. I hoped they would have those comfortable rubber clips I remembered as a child...none of the stores carried anything but the hard plastic kind.

I ordered the Bettertimes Swim Clip last week and received it yesterday (great shipping time). We were so excited to receive them, that we wanted to try them out immediately. My first thoughts of this item were that of being too tight, so I tried to loosen them and shape them a bit for my adult nose. The curved part of the exposed wire is hard to bend, which made it harder to shape. I had to try and make them a bit tighter for my daughter, whose young nose was a bit too small for this type of nose plug. Only one size was offered on this website (the package said "regular size"). After a period of slight adjustment, we tried them out.

Consensus: Does a decent job of keeping water out, but there is some leakage. They are not very comfortable, and feel too tight. When loosened, they felt better, but it didn't keep the water out completely. They would be returned, but the cost to ship back would not be worth it.

MyParenTime.com would only recommend this nose clip to adults, and would not guarantee that they will be comfortable on all noses :(.
